At present, there are more than 1000 green flame retardant granulation enterprises in our country, producing nearly 200,000 tons each year, but the unexpected is that most of these are exported. According to the secretary general of the Chinese academy of fire retardants, zhou zheng-chini, the use of green flame retardants is still not widely used in China, with domestic flame retardant plastics accounting for less than 2 percent of plastic products.
The sharp contrast between production and consumption has forced people to reflect on why China's green flame retardant market is slowing down. There are three reasons:
1. The laws and regulations related to the environmental protection of flame retardants are incomplete and incomplete, and the implementation is not in place. In June 2006, the fire department of the ministry of public security formulated the mandatory national standard gb20286-2006 "fire performance requirements and identification of flame retardant products in public places" and was officially implemented on March 1, 2007. However, the standard does not mention the violation of standard penalties, and the lack of inspection of relevant units has created the status quo of enterprises using non-environmental flame retardant mothers. The cost of green flame retardant mother is too high. At present, most of the domestic plastic products have no flame retardancy, mainly because of cost. For example, polypropylene is used in decoration and decoration. The price of raw materials is 8000 ~ 10,000 yuan per ton, while the price of green flame retardant mother is usually about 20,000 yuan per ton. According to the regulation, the proportion of green flame-retardant mothers should be 10% ~ 15%. In other words, if you want to add a green flame retardant parent, the cost of polypropylene will increase by 2,000 to 3,000 yuan per ton. The big increase in cost makes the product lose market competitiveness, and the production enterprise will not use it.
2. The application procedure for flame retardant identification of environmental protection flame retardant parent grain products is not clear. There are only over 200 enterprises that have actually applied for flame retardant identification nationwide. For the same enterprise, a batch of products have applied for flame retardant identification, so will the next batch of products need to apply again? If not, can the fire department guarantee that the next batch of products will be qualified? There are doubts. If go to application, the application process of unlimited and repeatability, and apply for the cost of the logo problem, manufacturers need to sent the product to the specified institutions detection, this virtually increases the cost to the manufacturer.
3. The cost of green flame retardant mother is too high. At present, most of the domestic plastic products have no flame retardancy, mainly because of cost.
